Ministry: Russia’s wheat exports double to 4.6 mln tns Jul 1–Wed
MOSCOW, Aug 9 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports almost doubled on the year to 4.6 million tonnes from July 1 through Wednesday, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Russia’s total grain exports increased around 50% on the year to 5.6 million tonnes in the period.
Exports of barley fell 19% to 683,000 tonnes, and corn exports decreased 35% to 288,000 tonnes.
Russia’s grain exports in the previous agricultural year that started on July 1, 2017 and ended on June 30, 2018 amounted to 52.422 million tonnes, including 40.449 million tonnes of wheat. The Agriculture Ministry expects Russia’s grain exports to reach 44–45 million tonnes this agricultural year.
